Award-winning Kristin Jensen, Soprano, has delighted audiences around the world with her creamy voice and heart-felt, passionate performances.

Kristin made her professional operatic debut with Phoenix Opera in 2008 as the Shepherd Boy in Tosca and returned to the company the fall of 2010 to cover Pamina and sing The First Boy in Die Zauberflöte. More recently, Kristin appeared as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel with the New York Lyric Opera with whom she also sang First Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Kristin reprised the role of Adina in The Elixir of Love with Loveland Opera Theater in 2009.
Ms. Jensen's operatic roles to date include Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adina in The Elixir of Love, the Shepherd Boy in Tosca, Atalanta in Xerxes, Vespetta in Pimpinone, Nora in Riders to the Sea, the First Lady, and both First and Second Spirits in The Magic Flute.
An avid recitalist and concert artist, Ms. Jensen has given recitals and concerts to great acclaim in Arizona, California, Utah, Florida, in Alberta, Canada, and in Barga, Italy. She made her European concert debut in 2006 as a soloist with the Arizona Arts Chorale and the South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague, Ceske Budejovice (Czeck Republic), and in Vienna, Austria.
Ms. Jensen has extensive experience singing as a church musician. She has had the honor of singing for congregations of several faiths. Kristin has sung as soloist for the First and Second Church of Christ, Scientist in Scottsdale, AZ; as soloist for Christ Presbyterian Church in Avondale, AZ; as soprano section leader and soloist for Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix, AZ, as soprano section leader and soloist for Shepherd of the Hills Congregational UCC in Phoenix, AZ; as an occasional soloist in Latter-day Saint congregations in New York, Arizona, and Florida, and as soprano section leader and soloist for Congregation Beth Israel during Rash Hashanah and Yom Kippur in Scottsdale, AZ .
When in Arizona, Ms. Jensen frequently appeared as a public face for Phoenix Opera in promotional and fund-raising concerts around the Phoenix metro area: Three Sirens of Song, a concert with the Phoenix French Alliance, at museum open-houses, and for the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
In 2007, Ms. Jensen was awarded Second Place in the Classical Singer Convention's Competition in the Young Artist Division. She has participated in the V.O.I.C.Experience Program with Maria Zouves and Sherrill Milnes, and in the New York Opera Studio program with Nico and Carol Castel.
Ms. Jensen received her formal training with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Arizona State University. She studied extensively with Gail Dubinbaum, acclaimed Mezzo-soprano and Creative Director of Phoenix Opera. Kristin operated a thriving voice studio in Chandler, AZ, for three years prior to relocating to Colorado, where she also ran a voice studio. Kristin now lives in New York City, where she is furthering her training and career.
